To continue its mission to better serve writers and filmmakers Austin Film Festival is pleased to announce returning sponsors for its 2023 Screenplay and Film Competitions. Sponsors will once again serve on the jury for their category and, schedules permitting, serve as panelists during AFF’s Screenwriters Conference and hold one-on-one meetings with finalists during or after the 30th Annual Austin Film Festival, taking place this October 26-November 3, 2023.
- Enderby Entertainment Filmmaking Fellowship Award, is a week-long trip to Enderby’s Los Angeles offices, guidance, and the opportunity to shadow executives and filmmakers on-site and open to short films entered under the Narrative Short Film and Narrative Student Short Film categories.
- Enderby Entertainment Award, co-founded by producers Rick Dugdale and Daniel Petrie, Jr., has their own exclusive category which is open to feature scripts in all genres with an original concept and distinctive voice that can be independently produced under $10 million.
- Writers Guild of America, East, is the underwriting sponsor of the Drama Screenplay Award category. Drama Finalist scripts will be judged by a select panel of WGAE screenwriters and the winner will be presented by a WGAE representative at the Awards Luncheon.
- The Rooster Teeth BIPOC Fellowship, The Rooster Teeth BIPOC Fellowship seeks scripts from underrepresented writers in the industry. While open to any genre, submission scripts should generally align with Rooster Teeth’s voice: an emphasis on comedy concepts that feature ordinary people in extraordinary situations, coming-of-age stories, or other engaging journeys of self-discovery.
- The Rooster Teeth Women & Animation Fellowship, The Rooster Teeth Women & Animation Fellowship seeks scripts from women looking to enter into the field of animation. While open to any genre, animation scripts should generally align with Rooster Teeth’s voice: an emphasis on comedy concepts that feature ordinary people in extraordinary situations, coming-of-age stories, or other engaging journeys of self-discovery.
All awards require an additional $25 entry fee. The first deadline for submission is March 23rd for both film and scripts.
