Audrey’s Children is painfully beautiful and honest. British physician, Dr. Audrey Evans challenges sexism in the medical field while her patients battle cancer. Between the widespread nature of discrimination in 1969 America and the dehumanizing process of chemotherapy, Audrey’s Children manages to bring viewers hope in the little moments.
Having a grandmother who has seen the frontlines of cancer as a survivor herself, I know how impactful this film can be to families recovering as well. In addition, this film brings importance to women in the medical field. While we work toward equality across all industries, I believe our media should reflect that same sentiment. Dr. Audrey Evan’s long lasting impact lives on through this movie and those who watch it.
I implore future doctors, survivors, recovering families, and activists to attend and enjoy Audrey’s Children. Help bring awareness to those in need and make your impact a positive one.
