Back by popular demand! Shane Black, writer and director of IRON MAN 3 and KISS KISS BANG BANG, and writer of the first two installments of the LETHAL WEAPON series, 1991’s THE LAST BOY SCOUT, and THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT, is back as one of the many fantastic panelists on board for this year’s. As a long time friend of the Festival, AFF board member, and the 2006 Distinguished Screenwriter award recipient, Shane always brings tons of advice, lessons learned, and words of inspiration, which he generously shares with registrants.
This is the best show in town, folks. AFF walks the walk, knowledge-wise, and that’s all there is to it. I have dropped what I’m currently doing to fire off this note and heartily endorse what to me is both a yearly passion and a home away from home. Barbara Morgan and the Austin staff are my extended family.
– Shane Black
This year, Shane will present a script-to-screen of KISS KISS BANG BANG. With script in hand and film clips on the screen, the writer/director will dissect this romantic thriller, discussing his writing process – what worked, what didn’t, what needed to be changed for film production, and why.
There are a limited number of spots available for Conference and Producers Badgeholders. Austin Film Festival will be opening an advance sign-up for this highly anticipated script-to-screen panel this Thursday, July 25th.
If you have not yet purchased a Badge, what are you waiting for?!
What’s more – AFF will release a few more seats to Rian Johnson’s script-to-screen discussion of his feature script and directorial debut, BRICK. Advance sign-ups for both panels will open at 12PM CST. Space is available on a first come basis!
If you’re currently a Lone Star or Weekend Badgeholder and would like to upgrade your Badge to participate, give us a call at 1.800.310.FEST or email us at officemanager@austinfilmfestival.com.
