Austin Film Festival & Writers Conference to Receive $20,000 Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts
Austin, Texas (January 24, 2024) — Austin Film Festival (AFF) has been approved for a $20,000 Art Works grant to support the AFF’s annual Writers Conference and national distribution of educational resources through On Story. In total, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) 958 Grants for Arts Projects awards totaling more than $27.1 million that were announced as part of its first round of fiscal year 2024 grants.
The Art Works funding category supports projects that focus on public engagement with, and access to, various forms of excellent art across the nation; the creation of art that meets the highest standards of excellence; learning in the arts at all stages of life; and the integration of the arts into the fabric of community life.
“The NEA is delighted to announce this grant to Austin Film Festival, which is helping contribute to the strength and well-being of the arts sector and local community,” said National Endowment for the Arts Chair Maria Rosario Jackson, PhD. “We are pleased to be able to support this community and help create an environment where all people have the opportunity to live artful lives.”

NEA’s support of On Story helps us share rich insight from the entertainment industry’s leading writers, directors, and creatives, providing a unique collection to inspire the next generation of artists.”
This project will support national distribution of educational resources collected at the Austin Film Festival Writers Conference through On Story.
