STAFF PICK: THE PHILADELPHIA ELEVEN

The Philadelphia Eleven follows the stories of several women from their youths, religious callings, activism, and advocacy to push the male-dominated status quo of the Episcopal Church to establish equitable opportunity for women as ordained priests. Through one-on-one interviews and archival footage, the audience will learn about the uphill battle these women faced 50 years ago in fighting for their equality. While there is still more work to be done within the Episcopal Church, the preservation of these women’s stories offers gratitude for creating the opportunity for future generations.
