Hello, friends!
My name is Casey Baron and I’m the Shorts Programmer for the 25th Annual Austin Film Festival. We’re less than 2 months away from sharing with y’all some of the wonderful stories brought to us from voices the world over. And to be quite frank, I think we have something pretty special brewing here in the heart of Texas, and I’m not talking beer.
Included in the vast array of films we’re excited to share with you all are the stories that lay the foundation for many a filmmaker’s career—the short films.
Whether it’s a tale of a couple reeling from their decision to renounce citizenship of their homeland, or the whimsical narrative of a young woman pleading with Cupid to release her from an oath of love, there are so many great stories I can’t wait for y’all to come experience with us!
We’ll be releasing further information regarding short films in the very near future, so keep an eye on our social accounts as we unveil not only the stories that we’ll be bringing you this October, but also the swath of fresh filmmaking voices prepared to forge their own path forward; into worlds only they have yet to imagine. I hope to see you all on October 25th for opening night, as we jump head first into the future, together.
