I always mean it when I say I like scary movies. Until they start and I realize I may have committed to an hour and some change of jump scares. But ‘tis the season for spooky horror films and thrilling monster flicks, and The Arbors fits the ticket. I was relieved when I settled in to watch and there was a substantive story holding the film intact. It had me on the edge of my couch and I’m still hesitantly looking over my shoulder thinking, “what’s that sound in those trees?!”. Full of classic “Don’t go in there!” moments, dark twists and turns, and underlying relatable story stringing it all together, I’d recommend grabbing your Halloween candy bowl and settling in for a true monster film this October with The Arbors.
