My Life as a Film
Within the first few minutes of “My Life is a Film” I had to pause it so that I could proclaim out loud (to anyone who would listen) “Guys. I think I love this film. I think I love it.” I’m not sure if it is the subject, the authenticity of the filmmaker or the beautiful simplicity of the film, but I felt the magic creeping over me from the first scene. After the loss of her filmmaker-father, the filmmaker found herself with rooms full of footage of her own life. This documentary unpacks all that she learned in the process of exploring his work and life. This film takes you on a journey that winds through the filmmaker’s own life into her father’s mind and explores the strange and painful beauty of family.
