Murder Bury Win
Late night last week, I decided to take a well-deserved break from the land of spreadsheets and watch some films submitted to AFF. Intent on making myself as cozy as possible after all the hours spent upright at my desk, I poured myself a cup of tea and buried my tired body in a mound of blankets. From my cave I reached a solitary finger out, and pressed play on my laptop. Playing cards flipped onto the screen one after the other. They read: Murder Bury Win I’m a gal that loves mystery, murder, and board games. So, to say this film was meant for me is an understatement. The cozy home the viewer and characters build out of the familiarity of board games is essentially eviscerated during a gruesome accident. An accident which starts to look like cold blooded murder when circumstantial evidence piles up. Murder Bury Win is the perfect swirl of conflicting personalities, campy horror, and anxiety-inducing dialogue. In this concoction, horror and humor collide, as three friends decide how to dispose of a body using the very board game that incited the accident in the first place. If you need some comical horror in your life, Murder Bury Win should be on your schedule. You have to see how their deadly game plays out!
