#1 : You want a career as a writer: As our friend Micah Bloomberg says: Working on this podcast…gave me exposure and action that I haven’t had before, which changed the nature of my career.” Micah is about to launch his second season of Homecoming working with an incredible cast including Oscar Isaac, Catherine Keener, Micahel Cera and more!
#2 : You have a great story to tell: We couldn’t agree more with our friends over at The Podcast Host. We’re story people. We’re judging this competition the same way we judge every other one: story matters most.
#3: If you already have a script, the hard part is done! Creating a Fiction Podcast Script isn’t about starting from scratch. If you have a pilot, a teleplay, a play or a screenplay, take the time to tweak it for this new medium. Check out Zach Akers and Skip Bronkie’s sample script for the hit podcast Limetown.
Whether you submit with us or not, getting your script ready for this space is only going to help your career! Spoiler alert: there are not many Fiction Podcast Script writers out there, but there are a lot of people looking to make and listen to Fiction Podcasts. So if you do decide to submit with us, you’d be a big fish in the small pond that is writers of audio fiction. Take advantage of this opportunity now while its new and emerging! This is an incredible way to get your foot in the Hollywood door!
For this Competition, we’re specifically looking for scripted, serial podcasts 3-30 pages per episode. Writers can submit up to three episodes not totaling over 90 pages along with a series outline for season 1.
