The Austin Film Festival is dedicated to championing the work of aspiring and established filmmakers, defined as screenwriters, directors, editors, producers, actors and all those artists who use the language of film to tell a story. The AFF furthers the art, craft and business of filmmaking by providing unique cultural events and services, enhancing public awareness and participation, and encouraging dynamic and long-lasting community partnerships.

The Austin Film Festival is proud to announce the return of the Young Filmmakers Competition!

 

Submissions are due August 1, 2009!

 

The Austin Film Festival will showcase the best teen filmmaking from around the country during the 16th annual Austin Film Festival, October 22-29.

The winning filmmaker will be notified prior to the festival, and will receive:

  • two (2) all-access Producer's Badges to the 2009 Austin Film Festival (for the filmmaker and a legal guardian*),
  • two (2) tickets to the AFF Awards Luncheon (October 24, 2009),
  • reimbursement up to $350 each for two (2) roundtrip airline tickets and
  • two (2) night’s accommodations in one of AFF’s sponsor hotels.


The winning filmmaker will also receive two tickets to our awards luncheon on Saturday October 24th with other AFF awardees and film/screenplay competition winners in attendance.


 

While at the festival the winning filmmaker will have the opportunity to see over 190 films and learn from panels with industry veterans including David Wain, Judd Apatow, Danny Boyle and Shane Black!
