The Austin Film Festival is dedicated to championing the work of aspiring and established filmmakers, defined as screenwriters, directors, editors, producers, actors and all those artists who use the language of film to tell a story. The AFF furthers the art, craft and business of filmmaking by providing unique cultural events and services, enhancing public awareness and participation, and encouraging dynamic and long-lasting community partnerships.

Writer's Ranch

The Writers' Ranch seeks to advance the careers of aspiring screenwriters through intensive study with industry professionals, increase public awareness of screenwriting and filmmaking through unique workshops with working artists, and serve as an inspirational catalyst for emerging and established participants alike.

We are excited to announce our 2009 Writers Ranch participants:

The four writers will be joined by the 2009 instructors Dan Petrie, Jr., Herschel Weingrod and Shane Black over the course of the week of January 25 – 31 at the beautiful Ranch Studios.
