The Austin Film Festival is dedicated to championing the work of aspiring and established filmmakers, defined as screenwriters, directors, editors, producers, actors and all those artists who use the language of film to tell a story. The AFF furthers the art, craft and business of filmmaking by providing unique cultural events and services, enhancing public awareness and participation, and encouraging dynamic and long-lasting community partnerships.

The Austin Film Festival is a not for profit 501c3 corporation.

4th Annual PSA Competition

The Austin Film Festival and the Travis County Sheriff’s Office announce the 4th Annual Awareness PSA contest highlighting Teen Dating Violence and Substance Abuse. 

Teens around Travis County are encouraged to submit a 30-second public service announcement (PSA) to raise awareness of growing teen problems, teen dating violence, underage drinking and drug use. The winning films will be played on local TV and screened at the Austin Film Festival Student Film Expo in April. Winning filmmakers will also receive a prize package from contest sponsors, including passes to the 17th Annual Austin Film Festival. 

DEADLINE: December 18, 2009 

·       The competition is open to high school students currently enrolled in Travis County schools.

·       Production teams are limited to 5 students or less.

·       All projects must be final - no works in progress will be accepted.

·     No excessive violence, weapons, drugs, sex, nudity or profane language is allowed.

·       Use a separate form for each submission.

·       All submitted material become property of AFF and The Travis County Sheriff's Office.
